HOUSTON,TX- The St. Thomas Celts fell 8-0 to NAIA powerhouse Houston-Victoria in Monday's non-conference matchup at HCU's Husky Field.

The nationally-ranked Jaguars broke open a scoreless game in the fifth inning with a two-run single, then steadily pulled away with runs in five different frames. UHV capitalized on a passed ball in the sixth before delivering the decisive blow with a four-run seventh inning.

St. Thomas' offense struggled against UHV's pitching staff, managing just six hits. The Celts' best scoring opportunity came in the third when Gavin Mays reached third base with one out, but a double play ended the threat.
