HOUSTON, TX- The University of St. Thomas women's soccer team wrapped up their regular season, hosting Centenary College for their final home conference match at SaberCats Stadium. The environment was filled with celebration as the Celts honored their seniors and secured a dominant 3-0 victory to close out conference play. With this win, UST finishes the regular season ranked third in the SCAC standings, holding an overall record of 10-2-4 and a final conference record of 7-1-2.
With determination and emotions in the air, the Celts came out strong to face their final conference opponent. UST immediately controlled the tempo, firing off six quick shots early in the half with efforts from 
Ashlee Stoltje, seniors 
Emma Cerda and 
Grace Carmichael, along with 
Amy Romero. The Celts maintained steady possession, pressing Centenary's defense and keeping the ball within their control. By halftime, UST had totaled 12 shots, including 6 on goal, with 
Bre Medina taking the last attempt before the whistle. Despite the offensive momentum, the score remained 0-0 heading into the break.
Coming out of halftime, both teams fought to gain the advantage as intensity rose across the field. The Celts continued to dominate possession, and a powerful shot by 
Sydney Ferguson set the tone for the half. The breakthrough came after a series of well-connected plays, as 
Bre Medina found the back of the net at the 63rd minute, assisted by 
Ashlee Stoltje and 
Emma Cerda, giving UST a 1-0 lead. Building on their momentum, the Celts struck again as 
Andrea Chavez Rosales scored her first goal of the season, assisted by 
Margarita Baltazar, to push the lead to 2-0. With Centenary struggling to regain control, UST continued to apply pressure and closed the game in confidence. To close out the match, 
Abigail Davila scored in a penalty kick in the 89th minute, securing the 3-0 shutout victory.
The Celts ended their season on a high note, showcasing growth, discipline, and team chemistry that has defined their journey this year. Their performance not only capped off an impressive regular season but also marked a milestone moment, as the program returns to the SCAC Conference Tournament for the first time since 2021. With the seasons' experiences and thrilling momentum on their side, UST looks to carry this energy into the postseason play.
