HOUSTON, TX — The University of St. Thomas volleyball team shined in front of their home crowd, sweeping McMurry 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-12) in a strong team performance at the JAAC. They are now 16-2 and 6-1 in conference.

The Celts came out firing in the first set, quickly jumping to a 13-5 lead behind kills from Noor Haydari and Alexis Bodunrin. Despite a late 6-0 run from the Warhawks that tightened the score, UST maintained their poise and secured the opening set 25-22, thanks to a McMurry attack error.

Set two mirrored the first, as UST once again started strong with a 5-1 lead. The Warhawks battled back, taking advantage of a few Celt miscues to close the gap. Both teams traded momentum throughout the set, but with the score at 24-22 in favor of McMurry, the Celts responded with back-to-back kills from Jazilyn Davis and an error by the Warhawks to complete the comeback and win 26-24.

UST carried that same energy into the third set, taking early control at 14-8 and never looking back. Behind multiple kills from Bodunrin and strong defense at the net, the Celts dominated to close out the match 25-12.

Bodunrin led the Celts with 14 kills and 10 digs for a double-double performance, while Davis added 8 kills and 4 aces. Haydari recorded 5 blocks, and setter Mia Medina tallied 13 assists alongside Jada Stallworth's 10. Libero Carly Lange anchored the defense with 18 digs and added 4 aces of her own.
