Juan Vargas is an outreach athletic trainer with the University of St. Thomas and primarily works with Baseball, and men’s and women’s soccer. In his role, he is responsible for the evaluation of injuries, overseeing treatment and rehabilitation, coordination of physician care and contributing to the prevention and education of our student athlete population. He also serves as a clinical preceptor for the University of Houston Master's of Athletic Training Program.
Vargas is from Lake Jackson, Texas and attended the University of Houston where he graduated with a Bachelors in Exercise Science in 2020 and a Masters in Athletic Training in 2022.
Following graduate school, Vargas took a position with Memorial Hermann as an outreach athletic trainer. From 2022-2026 he was outreached to Cypress Park High School, Thornton Middle School, and Rowe Middle school. While employed with Memorial Hermann, Vargas has had opportunities to work with the Houston Dynamo, AAU Junior Olympics, USA Gymnastics and IRONMAN Triathlons.
Vargas is a national certified athletic trainer and a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Texas.
