Jonathan Lopez brings over 25 years of playing and coaching experience to the field. As a player, he competed with top youth academies like Texas Rush Academy U16 and Houston Texans Academy U18 before playing collegiate soccer at Bacone College (NAIA), where he appeared in 70 matches and helped the team secure its first winning season and playoff appearance despite overcoming two ACL surgeries.

Jonathan began his coaching career in 2017, leading Fort Gibson High School to its first 4A state championship. He later became head coach for both men’s and women’s soccer at Bacone College before joining the University of St. Thomas in 2019. At UST, he has helped guide the program to:

• 5 SCAC finals appearances (2021–2024)
• 3 SCAC Conference Titles (2021, 2022, 2023)
• 2 NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 finish in 2022

In addition, Jonathan works as a high-performance coach at GFI Academy, mentoring youth players and pursuing his USSF C License. A proud father to Ezra, Sebastian, and Sophyia, he is dedicated to developing players’ skills and character on and off the field.
