UST Athletics Adds Abdulrahman "Aman" Almosalami to Sports Medicine Staff

HOUSTON – The University of St. Thomas Athletic Department continues to elevate its commitment to student-athlete health and performance with the addition of Abdulrahman "Aman" Almosalami as Assistant Athletic Trainer. Joining the Celts through Memorial Hermann, Almosalami will provide sports medicine coverage for the UST men's basketball, women's basketball, cross country and track & field programs.

Almosalami brings a diverse background in athletic training and sports medicine, having gained experience at the collegiate, high school and endurance event levels. His passion for athlete care, injury prevention and rehabilitation will further strengthen the comprehensive medical support provided to UST student-athletes.

In his role, Almosalami is responsible for evaluating and treating athletic injuries, providing preventative care, developing individualized rehabilitation programs, educating student-athletes and student athletic trainers, coordinating care alongside team physicians and other healthcare professionals, and maintaining comprehensive medical documentation.

Director of Sports Medicine Leslie Bennett is excited to welcome Almosalami to the growing Sports Medicine staff.

"We are thrilled to welcome Juan and Aman to join the Sports Medicine team," Bennett said. "Our staff has a big impact on our athletic population. Finding individuals who are not only skilled clinicians but also genuinely care about building relationships with our student-athletes is so important, and I know they've found the right home here.

"Both Juan and Aman bring their own set of expertise that will help support our student-athletes and align with the culture we've worked hard to build. I have no doubt they will strongly contribute to our department, and we're excited to have them as part of the Celts family."

A Diverse Journey to UST

Born and raised in Saudi Arabia with Egyptian and Filipino heritage, Almosalami earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from North Dakota State University in 2023 before completing his Master of Science in Athletic Training at Lasell University in Massachusetts in 2025.

During his graduate education, Almosalami gained valuable clinical experience at Regis College, Harvard University and Waltham High School while also volunteering at the prestigious Boston Marathon. Those opportunities helped develop his expertise in injury evaluation, rehabilitation, emergency care and athlete performance across a wide range of sports and competitive environments.

Almosalami is certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Texas.

He will immediately begin working with the Celts, providing comprehensive sports medicine coverage for the men's and women's basketball, cross country and track & field programs.

The addition of Almosalami reflects UST Athletics' continued commitment to investing in the health, safety and success of its student-athletes by building one of the premier Sports Medicine staffs in NCAA Division III.
