HOUSTON, Texa--  Bryce Brazzel of University of St. Thomas, a senior from Friendswood, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Golfer of the Week for competition played from Monday, October 12th through Tuesday, October 13th.

Brazzel was the top SCAC finisher at the Carla Spenkoch Invite, leading the Celts to a third-place overall team finish. The senior set the tone for St. Thomas throughout the event, turning in a 54-hole total of 215 (+2) to finish in a tie for third individually.

He was at his best on the bookends of the tournament, opening and closing the event with rounds of even-par 71. That steady start and strong finish kept Brazzel firmly in the hunt on the leaderboard and gave the Celts a consistent presence at the top of the field.

Brazzel's play was also impressive across the stat sheet. In a field of 57 golfers, he tied for second in both birdies, with 12, and par 5 scoring average, at 4.67, showing an ability to take advantage of scoring opportunities.

With another strong showing from its senior leader, St. Thomas will look to build on its third-place finish as the fall season continues.
