WACO, Texas – The University of St. Thomas women's tennis team saw its 2025 season comes to a close in the SCAC Quarterfinals after a hard-fought 5-2 loss to No. 4 seed Concordia Texas in Waco.
The Celts came out strong in doubles play, securing two of the three matches to take the early 1-0 lead. The duo of Ella Mullins and Lucia Rodriguez picked up a 6-4 win on court one, while Karissa Guzman and Adriana Iturralde rolled to a 6-2 victory at line three.
In singles, however, Concordia responded with a strong showing. The Tornadoes clinched the match with four singles victories, including a three-set battle at line four where Iturralde fell 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Despite the outcome, Lucia Rodriguez was locked in a thrilling top-line match that went unfinished, leading 6-3 before narrowly dropping the second set in a tiebreak.
St. Thomas finishes the year with a 9-5 overall record, marking another competitive season under their belts. This concludes the 2025 women's tennis season.
