Track & Field Shines with Records

Nacogdoches, TX—The St. Thomas Women's Track and field team put together another standout performance at the SFA Invite, hosted by Stephen F. Austin. The team collected personal bests, school records, and top-10 finishes in a deep NCAA Division I and II field.

Alejandra Ramon continued her strong distance campaign by rewriting the program record books with a school record in the 5000m, clocking 18:25.98 to highlight the distance group.

In the 400m dash, Selest Edwards placed 10th with a time of 59.09, closely followed by Christina Stinson, who finished 13th in 59.39. In the sprints, Trinity White placed 10th in the 100m (12.37) and backed it up with a 7th-place finish in the 200m (25.33).

The 100m was stacked with Celts, as Quadetra Wilburn finished 12th (12.39) and Ny'Cierra Hinton took 14th (12.48). Hinton also ran a personal best of 25.80 in the 200m, becoming the fourth Lady Celt this season to break 26 seconds in that event.

In the middle-distance events, Elizabeth Stepaniak notched a new personal best in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:24.59.

To wrap up the meet, the women's 4x400m relay team ran a strong 4:06.02 to secure 4th place overall in one of the day's most competitive races.

Both teams now turn their focus to the SCAC Outdoor Championships, set to take place April 25–27, where they will aim to finish strong in their final meet of the season.
