HOUSTON, TX – The University of St. Thomas Men's Soccer team returned home to SaberCats Stadium to host a conference match against Hendrix College. After a weekend of travel, the Celts looked to bounce back with the support of a home crowd but ultimately fell short to the Warriors in a tight 1-0 contest. St. Thomas now sits at an overall record of 7-4-1 and a conference record of 3-3-1.
At the start of the match, the Celts wasted no time getting to work, controlling possession early and setting the tone offensively. Both teams traded shots in an evenly matched battle until Hendrix capitalized on an opening and scored midway through the first half to take a 1-0 lead. The goal shifted the game's momentum, but UST continued to push back with energy and precision.
Angel Landaverde fired two well-placed shots testing the Warriors' goalkeeper, while
Brian Garcia added a dangerous on-goal attempt before halftime to close out the half.
In the second half, intensity built on both sides as the Celts sought to break through Hendrix's defense. UST maintained strong ball possession, creating several on-target chances in their fight to even the score. Efforts from

Nathan Udojie showcased the team's resilience and determination. Despite their high shot count, which reflected the Celts ability to score, they were unable to find the back of the net, finishing with a hard-fought 1-0 loss.
